Student Best Paper Award

The Student Best Paper Awards will be presented to recognise the two most outstanding research papers submitted by students and research scholars in the fields of Criminology, Victimology, and related subjects. The recipient of the first Student Best Paper Award will receive a £125 book voucher, while the second-best paper will be awarded a £75 book voucher, both sponsored by the Prestigious Bristol University Press, UK.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The competition is open to full-time students (UG/PG/MPhil/PhD) enrolled in Criminology, Victimology, Criminal Justice, or Law programs. Students in part-time, online, or distance education programs are not eligible.

  2. The student must be under the age of 30.

  3. The award is open to all student participants, including international students.

  4. Submissions must be authored solely by the submitting student; co-authorships with professors are not accepted.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Each paper should include a 150-word abstract and must be between 6,000 and 8,000 words in length, including references.

  2. The paper must be formatted in Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.

  3. Only the Harvard Style of referencing should be used.

  4. Papers should closely align with the conference's main theme.

  5. The student must ensure that the paper is previously unpublished and has not been submitted to any other competition or made public in any form until the committee reaches its decision.

  6. The students should avoid from using AI or AI-assisted tools to write their papers.

  7. Submissions should focus on empirical research rather than being purely descriptive or theoretical.

Submission Procedure

Submit your full papers following with the guidelines above, along with an updated Curriculum Vitae. Students must also submit a full-time student status confirmation letter from the Head of their Department (if at a university) or from the Principal (if at a college). Submit your paper along with required documents to icgcv2024@rvu.edu.in. Deadline for Submission: 10th July 2024 by 23:59 Indian Standard Time.

 

The awards committee will rigorously review each submitted paper and notify the winning candidate before the conference. Selection will be based solely on the quality of the research paper, including the research topic, methodology, and contribution to the fields of Criminology, Victimology and Criminal Justice.

ICGCV 2024 - Conference Fellowship

ICGCV 2024 is pleased to announce the fellowships for six dedicated full-time students and PhD research scholars participating in our upcoming conference. This initiative supports those facing financial constraints, enabling them to engage fully in the conference without the burden of costs.

The fellowship will cover the full conference fees and provide accommodation (on a sharing basis) for three nights. Six fellowships are available, and each two from UG, PG and PhD research scholars. This fellowship aims to motivate students and scholars, enhance their academic knowledge, and provide them with an invaluable opportunity to participate in a vibrant scholarly environment. We encourage all eligible participants to apply and benefit from this wonderful opportunity to expand their academic horizons and network with peers in their fields.

Eligibility criteria for the fellowship 

  1. The competition is open to full-time students (UG/PG/MPhil/PhD) enrolled in Criminology, Victimology, Criminal Justice, or Law programs. Students in part-time, online, or distance education programs are not eligible.

  2. The student must be under the age of 30.

  3. The fellowship is open to Indian student participants only.

  4. The student must submit an abstract for the conference. The student can co-author a paper but must be the first author and must present at the conference.

Submission Procedure: The eligible students should submit the following document for the fellowship consideration: 

  1. Update Curriculum Vitae.

  2. Abstract as per the guidelines.

  3. Statement of Purpose from the students about their need for financial assistance.

  4. Students must submit a full student status confirmation letter from the Head of the Department (if at a university) or from the Principal (if at a college).

  5. One Letter of Recommendation from a senior faculty or professor in the field of Criminology, Victimology, Criminal Justice and Law.

Each submitted application will undergo a rigorous and extensive review by the awards committee. The winning candidate will be notified before the conference. Equal weightage will be given to all components of the application package, which includes the Curriculum Vitae, the abstract of the proposed presentation, the Statement of Purpose, and a Letter of Recommendation. The eligible students should submit all the required documented to icgcv2024@rvu.edu.in. Deadline for Submission: 20th June 2024 by 23:59 Indian Standard Time.
